Tactical Link asked one of the best barrel manufacturers in the industry to make a barrel that was over the top in quality, accuracy, durability, and presentation. Faxon Firearms hit the mark with this barrel. Unfortunately, because fluting a barrel after nitriding destroys tooling this will be a one-time exclusive offering through Tactical Link.
Each and every Faxon Firearms barrel is made with the highest level of accuracy during the machining process and is reamed after rifling for the best possible bore surface. The barrel is chambered, chamber polished, and head spaced to a master bolt face with barrel extension individually matched to each barrel.
After the machining for the contour (exterior) and after the reaming (interior), the barrel is actually nitrided (not just black oxided which is inferior to nitriding) both inside and out. Then, after the QPQ black nitriding, the barrel is fluted, creating the 2 tone appearance. It is also THE ONLY .223 Wylde barrel presently produced by Faxon Firearms. All barrels are manufactured under Faxon's ISO:9001 and AS:9100 quality certifications and are inspected over 15 times.
