Dark Hour Defense 11 Position Carbine Buffer Tube

Bought for PSA15 AR. Needed more adjustability. This one has it in spades. Plan to purchase one or two for my brother.

Had to write a review on this great buffer tube from Dark Hour Defense. Came in at 3.5oz on my scale. Which is only .2oz more than the V7 2055 buffer. I found out when purchasing this one that V7 makes it and you can see the logo at the end of the tube. One word of caution when installing, if I remember correctly is that when you tighten down the castle nut you have to twist the tube toward the opposite direction that you are tightening. If you don't then when tightening down the castle nut the tube will twist slightly and the detent lock will put pressure on the buffer retainer pin, preventing it from moving up and down. Then it will prevent you from installing your buffer and spring. I used a V7 titanium buffer retainer pin which is slightly thicker than milspec. Other than that this is a high quality buffer tube that is light weight and at a great price.

Needed a replacement buffer tube as somehow my old one got punctured by the detent and it shot up into my gun somehow. Anyway this piece is quality and for the price compared to other basic styled tubes it is worth looking at forsure.

I bought this tube for the additional LOP positions for use on a 6.5 Grendel rifle set up for long range. Attached it to a Cross Machine UHP15A lower along with an IWC QD end plate and standard castle nut with zero issues. Magpul STR stock also fits well, Armaspec Stealth Captured Buffer system fits and functions as it should. The extended lip around the buffer retaining pin is appreciated; the pin properly orients the buffer tube during installation as well as provides security against the tube rotating in the unlikely event that the castle nut backs out. In my case, I have the top of the retainer pin ground even with the tube interior as it's not functionally necessary with the captured buffer. This prevents the possibility of the top of the pin snapping off and finding its way into the trigger group, as has been known to occur. Faceted outer surface looks unique. If I were forced to complain about something, the only thing I could come up with is that the finish anodizing is just a bit on the purple end compared to the parts I attached it to. Worth mentioning? Maybe not. It ought to take Cerakote just fine. More of a suggestion than complaint: This tube is probably not the right choice for carbines with particularly heavy-recoiling loads, like the .458 SOCOM or .50 Beowulf, due to the way the stock pin interfaces are cut into the tube. For anything else, it ought to work fine. So far, the tube is working for me at least as well as expected. If you're looking for a carbine buffer tube with finer LOP adjustment, this one ought to do the trick for you.

It is a good good buffer that is a hair on the loose side at the same that is good it is not psycho tight either,I use a ctr stock and lock it the minor slop goes away. The 11 positions work great in minor adjustments in my field of view for my scope/or finer adjustment for different sized people. Also the he buffer tube is cat clawed to buffer detent for a solid lock up. It is comparable to the slightly more expensive pof buffertube but with more adjustment than the pof.

This has to be about the best buffer tube I have come acrossed. I really like the adjustability of the 11 positions. This is being placed on a V7 lower and going to be used for 3 gun. And to be honest the looks of this tube is amazing and fit and function can't be beat. I will be purchasing this item again.

Outstanding buffer tube! Buffer tube is light, strong, good looking and well thought out. Drain holes, 11 positions and the anti-tilt tab for the BCG shows how smart the designer(s) on this product. Should be standard on all buffer tubes IMO!

Shipping was fast and item was packaged very well. The finish and fit was excellent. I purchased two of these. One for my Bushmaster and one for my PSA AR-15 both went together without a hitch. They look great and function perfectly. I really enjoy the flexibility that an 11 position tube has to offer. I will definitely purchase more of these for future AR builds.

Installed on my ar 15 custom build works great for my application and the 11 position stops are nice to fine tune your own length. I am very happy with the purchase and will buy again from Tacicallink
