Forward Controls Design LDFA - Serrated

All about the smaller details. Fwd assists are on almost every rifle yet barely anyone upgrades. Its cheap, stronger than stock, and looks clean af!

I know... It's a forward assist. It's also the coolest, most solidly built, best looking knob that you can slot into mil-spec receiver. I've outfitted every rifle that I own with one. Be forewarned: once you install one, all the rest of your ARs will look clunky. Be ready to invest in multiples.

Removing the lip on the forward assist is a small detail, but it made a big difference to me. I have big hands and pull the charging handle with my right hand when locking the bolt back. These two things combined to equal a sore fingertip at the end of a match from catching it on the forward assist multiple times. Yes I could just get rid of the forward assist, but I like it and have used it. The LDFA lets me keep it and still run the gun the way I like. It is a little pricey, but it's a quality, low volume machined part so there's not much you can do about that.

Was going to use an upper without a forward assist, but my lgs advised against that as I was building a 6.5 Grendel. He has had some 6.5G's needing a little boost since it is a fat little cartridge. This Low Drag Forward Assist was the best option for the 'cleaner' look I was after. Glad Tactical Link had one (their last one) since they are not even available through Forward Controls. Works great as I expected, it is just a forward assist after all, but I do like that it isn't as clunky looking as most. Buy it, you'll love it.

All in all this is a pretty standard forward assist with the head slimmed down to be flush, giving you a nice snag-less part. It is a well made, high quality part, and functions as it should. Personally I don't particularly think this part offers any significant improvement over the regular forward assist but it does give your rifle a slightly slicker feel; especially when used in conjunction with an ambidextrous charging handle. All that said, in my opinion the price tag is a little too high to consider this a practical purchase, however, it's a quality part, it functions well, and as advertised. So if your specifically interested in this type of part for your AR you can't go wrong here.

Very smooth finish and clean lines. Does everything a forward assist should do and comes with all the hardware to install it.

Love the smooth lines. Functions perfect in my lantac upper. Clean, works well with gloves or bare hands.
