As Lightweight As Possible
The main purpose of this project was to build as lightweight of a rifle as possible using the top shelf, high quality products we carry. We could have elected to shave more weight by using a polymer lower receiver but we were unwilling to compromise a slight weight reduction over safety, quality, and reliability that is inherent in a billet receiver set.
Rifles Less Than 4.5 Pounds
To the best of our ability, we have listed and linked for you each part used in this build. The rifle, built with the components listed above, weighs 4 lb 2.97 oz without the empty magazine and 4 lb 7.55 oz with the empty magazine.
Quality Rifle Parts
In the images shown above, we replaced many of the original manufacturers' screw(s) with titanium screws simply to reduce weight and to add aesthetics or a degree of bling for the purpose of this build. Because we wanted to use the Patriot Ordnance Firearms Roller Cam Pin with the JP Rifles Aluminum Ultra Low Mass Bolt Carrier, we had to replace the original gas key of the JP Rifles Aluminum Ultra Low Mass Bolt Carrier with the Patriot Ordnance Firearms Roller Cam Pin Gas Key. We also drilled and tapped the Patriot Ordnance Firearms Roller Cam Pin Gas Key to be adjustable and to function like the highly effective Rubber City Armory Adjustable Gas Key.Please use the Contact Us Portal if you have any questions.
