Q: For a 300 blackout subsonic short cycle will this solve the problem? Also is the spring change out usually necessary? Is having an adjustable gas block necessary?

Asked by: Greg Burk - 9/15/2022
A: Q: For a 300 blackout subsonic short cycle will this solve the problem?
A: Yes.

Q: Also is the spring change out usually necessary?
A: Depends on what spring you have now.

Q: Is having an adjustable gas block necessary?
A: I don't know how you'd control the buffer travel if you didn't have an AGB or an adjustable gas key.

Q: I want to install this on a 7.5 inch 300 blackout to help it cycle subsonic ammo. I'm using a mil-spec BCG and carbine tube and spring. Will occasionally shooting supersonic ammo hurt this buffer? Like crack the delrin?

Asked by: Aaron - 3/19/2020
A: Taccom tells us that their Ultra Lightweight Carbine Buffers help immensely with 300 blackout weapons. We've sold thousands of these and have never heard of any of them failing. Thanks for the inquiry.

Q: 300 blackout, cycles fine with normal ammo, switched to subsonic and will not eject ,6' barrell, pistol length gas tube with a suppressor, Thinking I need to go to a lighter buffer and spring,is your product a potential fix?

Asked by: Glen Hensley - 3/5/2020
A: Your stated problem is exactly what the Taccom Ultra Lightweight Carbine Buffers were made for. Make sure you get the reduced strength spring also. Q: Hi, will this buffer setup work on poorly cycling, short barrel AR Pistols (5.5")? Thanks and Merry Christmas

Asked by: Jose Rojas - 12/22/2018
A: Jose, there are many things that add up to an AR cycling poorly, but these buffers significantly reduce the amount of mass and can certainly help improve the chances of getting the result you want/need. Thanks for the inquiry.

Q: I am interested in lightening my DDm4V11 buffer system. I am considering going to a light weight bolt, ( not titanium) How much weight will this buffer save me over my stock carbine length buffer? Do you recommend an adjustable gas block and which one would you recommend? Any other info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You George

Asked by: george - 5/4/2018
A: George, the standard H2 buffer weight is 4.6 oz. The set of Taccom Ultra Lightweight Carbine Buffers weighs a total of 0.4 oz. An adjustable gas block or an adjustable gas key is definitely recommended and we carry both types of gas regulators (adjustable gas blocks and adjustable gas keys) on our site and all the products we carry are from good, top-shelf manufacturers; so you really can't make a bad choice when choosing from our product line up. The only other recommendation is to get the Taccom 10% Reduced Recoil Carbine Length Buffer Spring when you get their buffers. Thanks for the inquiry.

Q: What is the purpose of the REAR buffer? It only (seems to) serves the purpose of reducing spring travel, which could easily do more harm than good. the rear buffer could be just long enough to not become diss-alinged... maybe a half inch or even shorter. Initially I found this looking for light weight products for my survival rifle but as my MSR is designed around low recoil, I am intrigued. Thanks!

Asked by: MSR15 - 12/1/2017
A: If you need more information please contact the manufacturer directly. Thanks for the inquiry.
