Q: Is there any information when you may be getting the Black Hills 77gr 5.56 ammo in?? Thank you, John

Asked by: John Licali - 1/31/2025
A: In the past, we've waited for over a year to be restocked. I don't know where we are in their shipping / fulfillment queue. We get a confirmation call about a day before they ship; that's the extent of notification we get. We love their ammo and so you do you; we just wish it was in stock more often. Thanks

Q: What is the difference between D556N19 and D556N9? I see sites showing '77 otm', '77gr Sierra Match Tip Hollow Point' or 'MK262 Type'. Thanks for any info - Lou

Q: Is this MK 262 ammo?

Asked by: Mike - 11/1/2022
A: Here is the response directly from Black Hills Ammunition:
Not really…..the MK262 has very specific military requirements that are not adhered to during commercial manufacturing (government inspections/tests/packaging). However, with that said, our commercial packaged 5.56 77gr OTM is made on the same equipment, using the same components as MK262. It is, of course, in commercial packaging.

The MK262 Mod 1-C is “closer” to the government ammo due to its packaging but again, it is not “exactly” MK262, but it is as close as you can get without it belonging to the government.

Q: Can this ammo be shipped to Alaska?

Asked by: Gene Burke - 2/18/2019
A: Just spoke with FedEx and while this ammo could be shipped to Alaska I think FedEx's requirements will make this purchase infeasable due to their fees (i.e. a $98 dangerous goods fee), surcharges, and the requirement that the package must be shipped priority overnight. Thanks for the inquiry.
