Superlative Arms Retrofit Piston Kit With Adjustable Low Profile Stainless Steel Melonited Set Screw 0.750 Inch Gas Block With Gas Bleed Off Port For AR15 Style Rifles - Carbine Length

The Superlative Arms Low Profile Adjustable Piston System replaces the standard AR15 impingement gas system. This new piston system allows the rifle run much cooler and cleaner without blowing burnt carbon into the upper receiver group. The Superlative Arms Low Profile Adjustable Piston System is compatible with full auto configurations. The piston gas block is low profile and fits under most handguards on the market, and will fit any barrel nut (if a gas tube fits, the piston rod will fit).

The Superlative Arms piston system has a gas adjustment screw that is accessed from the font of the gas block, which can be adjusted with the included Allen wrench. The gas screw is locked into position by a click adjustment, to ensure your gas settings remain the same during firing. By adjusting the amount of gas, the system assists in reducing recoil and minimizing parts wear. You can now fine tune your rifle to the ammo of your choosing, or to adjust for proper functioning with a suppressor. The gas setting can also be completely turned off, preventing the rifle from cycling. All parts, including the gas screw, are removable for cleaning.

The main components are finished with a matte black nitride finish, to ensure lubricity, corrosion resistance and ease of cleaning. Carrier is machined from one solid piece of steel, and has skis on the rear, to prevent carrier tilt. Piston Kit requires the use of your existing AR15 bolt, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin and cam pin. Existing bolt will simply need the gas rings removed for proper function. Available gas system lengths include: rifle, mid-length, carbine and pistol. Not compatible with 300BLK nor with the 7.62NATO/ .308Win platform.

The pressure used in the block is reduced only to the amount required to drive the bolt carrier. The remaining gas / pressure is bled out of the block allowing the system to run much cleaner and cooler with a reduction of felt recoil. The adjustment detent is located outside of the block and therefore no contamination. The gas adjustment screw does not restrict the gas flow; therefore, there is no erosion or seizing of the screw / no loss of detent due to carbon build up.  Although it is removable, Superlative Arms added a safety mechanism, which stops you from unintentionally backing the screw all the way out. When using SBRs and/or suppressors, the bleed off port allows the excessive pressure to be exhausted out of the block reducing blow back.
